Based on Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy (includes vehicle and driver conditions and byelaws) (Oldham Council, published 21 October 2025). Checked .
Licence conditions and policy is one of the topics in Oldham's knowledge test. An Oldham Dual Driver Licence lets you drive both hackney carriages and private hire vehicles, so you need to know both sets of rules. This page covers the private hire side.
These questions are based on Appendix C of the Council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy, with a few from Appendix A, the private hire vehicle conditions. The hackney carriage rules are in our byelaws topic and the rest of the policy is in our licensing policy topic.
