Liverpool conditions and byelaws: questions and answers
Based on Private Hire Driver Licence Conditions (Liverpool City Council, published 1 December 2018) and 4 other sources. Checked .
These rules are not in the Street Knowledge Test. The Council lists only routes and addresses for that test. We include them because you must follow them once you are licensed, and because the Council's Guidance lists licensing conditions and licensing law among the modules of the Liverpool Standard Part 1 course. They are left out of our mock test.
Private hire drivers work under the Council's Private Hire Driver Licence Conditions, in force since 1 December 2018. Hackney carriage drivers work under the Hackney Carriage Byelaws, in force since 1 January 2019. Questions that apply to one licence only say so in their set title.
Breaking a condition can lead to your licence being suspended or revoked. These are our own practice questions, not the Council's. The Council says its Guidance document is under review, so check the Council's licence page for the latest version.
