New Leeds drivers must pass a local knowledge test. The West Yorkshire and York driver training policy says it covers local tourism and routes to places in the area, using a sat-nav, and local conditions, policies and byelaws. Each council sets its own pass mark, and a pass in one area cannot be used in another.

Leeds's fee list shows a private hire "districts of Leeds and city centre" re-sit and a hackney carriage "AZ and maps test". So expect questions on where places are. Leeds does not publish the questions or the pass mark. This page practises the same kind of knowledge: where hospitals, stations, theatres, attractions and towns are.

Does the Leeds local knowledge test ask for routes?

The training policy says the test covers local tourism and routes to places within the area, and sat-nav use. Leeds does not publish the questions. This page covers where places are; plan routes between them with a map.

What is the pass mark for the Leeds local knowledge test?

Leeds does not publish it. The shared West Yorkshire and York policy says each council sets its own pass mark for local knowledge.
